Star Wars Collection updates

Yesterday my family and I went to a Flea Market at one of the shopping mall in PJ. On Sunday visitor will find a lot of toys on display/sale hence the name Toys Day. I managed to grab some ot the Star Wars action figures needed to add to my small collection. By the look of it I am going there again this coming Sunday to look for more Star Wars figurines to complete my personal collection.



Based on the feedback I received form other collectors/entrepreneurs, once the figurine is taken out of the box, the resale value decreases slightly. I know I am not going to sell all these action figures as I collect them for personal satisfaction and not to make money out of it. So I don't have to worry about that. I intend to take all of the figurines out of the box/package and display them on a big display case. But some collecters are against it, saying that some of the figurines look better in the packaging. Hmmm what am I to do.
Still looking for a few more in the market.

Star Wars Collection

I recently started my Star Wars action figure collection after postponing it for so long. The desire to do it started when I was about 12 years old after my auntie took me to the Star Wars movie though she is no Sci-Fi fan but rather Hindustani. Due to financial reasons, that desire subsided but a small flame survived.

I managed to collect a few though, like AT-AT driver, Luke Skywalker, Biker Scout and another figurine (which I can't recall the name). Now I focus my Star Wars action figure collection on the Republic Army but only the standard ones. I have yet to decide whether to widen my collection scope to include other specific figurines in the Republic Army circle. Here are the ones in my collection.

A birthday gift

My wife gave me a birthday gift, a watch that she posted on her blog the other day. I saw the watch on her blog and now it is on my wrist. Alhamdulillah. I never dreamed of wearing an expensive (in my standard) watch. It came as a surprise as she had planned it discreetly. Thank you sayang and thanks to my kids too. I really love it.

Training in Sarawak

All trainers had to go to Kuching, Sarawak to train users on a new system to be implemented in August 2008. It was a 2-day training programme. We departed from the office at 6 pm (12 June, Thursday), flight from KLIA at 8.50 pm. Arrived at the Kuching airport around 10.45 pm and checked in into the Hilton hotel at 11.30 pm. This was my second visit to Kuching and not much has changed since my last trip, meaning I can still use whatever knowledge/info/whereabouts of this place I had to help me out in this trip.

The next day was Friday the 13th. On the contrary to the popular belief, the training went smoothly in fact better than expected as all the future users of the new system, cooperated wonderfully. It was so smooth that we had the evening to ourselves. We took a stroll to the

museum of ethnology, the warrior monument (pardon me for missing the proper name for it), the cultural village and towards the famous Sarawak river.

At night, this riverside is comes alive with entertainment from the rows of cafes, local handicrafts on sale including the famous 'gambir' sarawak, tourists and onlookers.

We had dinner across the river at one Barok restaurant. It took about 5 minutes to cross the river by boat with 40 sen fare per head. The fare is RM 1 per head after 11 pm. We had dinner at this kampung-like restaurant. Splendid food.
